Introduction
Clare County Enterprise Board
is one of 35 Enterprise Boards established by the government under the
Operational Programme for Local Urban and Rural Development 1994 –1999. The
Board, which was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee, is a
statutory Agency established under the 1995 Industrial Development Act.
The remit of Clare County
Enterprise Board is to develop indigenous enterprise potential and to
stimulate economic activity at local level. This is done primarily through
the provision of financial support, advice and training for the development
of small businesses. The County Enterprise Board supports individuals, firms
and community groups provided that the projects have the capacity to achieve
commercial viability.

The staff of the Board will
seek to ensure that you are fully informed of all our services and supports
and subject to qualifying criteria, both personal and business, provided by
you will be dealt with in total confidence.
Objectives
The focus of the Board is
strategic and its key objectives are:

To develop & implement an
Enterprise Plan for the county

To create enterprise
awareness and develop an enterprise culture among the people of Clare

To become a local focus
for the efforts of State and other agencies in the provision of
enterprise support

To equip entrepreneurs
with the skills necessary for the planning and management of their
enterprises

To assist entrepreneurs
with the provision of appropriate financial packages
Structure of the Board
Membership of Clare County
Enterprise Board Ltd comprises 16 members who between them represent Clare
County Council, the Social Partners at local level, State Development
Agencies and Local Community Organisations involved in enterprise
development in the county.
Evaluation Committee
The Board is supported by an
Evaluation Committee established to provide technical assistance to the
Board on the evaluation of projects within the overall strategy and policies
set down by the Board for enterprise development in the county.

Clare County Enterprise Board
is committed to providing a quality service in an efficient and professional
manner to its clients. We will continue to monitor our communications system
to ensure that Clare County Enterprise Board customers and members of the
public have a wide choice of communication methods with Clare County
Enterprise Board.

Personal callers at the
Board’s offices at Mill Road, Ennis will be dealt with courteously.
Personal callers who have prior appointments with members of staff will
be seen promptly and in privacy where necessary.

We will acknowledge all
letters within two days of receipt and our aim will be to reply to
letters within two weeks. If an issue cannot be dealt with within this
period, an interim-communication will be issued.

Complaints/Smoke Free
Workplace Policy
Clare County Enterprise Board
operates a formal complaints procedure
and also a Smoke Free Workplace Policy.
Disability Procedures
Clare County Enterprise Board is in compliance with the Disability
Act 2005 regarding Code of Practice on Accessibility of Public
Services and Information Provided by the Board. Persons

Confidentiality
Any discussions or
correspondence that the Board enters into with a promoter is treated in the
strictest confidence at all times. The Board is governed by the Data
Protection Act, ensuring that an individual’s intellectual & patent rights
are upheld by the Freedom of Information Act 1997.
Timeliness
The Board is governed by the
Prompt Payment of Accounts Act 1997.
Responsiveness
The Board, in developing &
improving its range of services is anxious to elicit the views of
individuals & businesses who have participated on programmes. All our
services are evaluated internally & externally through participant feedback.
