How to Win Tenders/ Public Procurement Workshop


  • Brief Programme Description
    The practice of tendering can provide great opportunities for businesses to increase their sales and client numbers, but is often regarded as intimidating and labour intensive. This training programme will demystify the process and provide participants with the increased understanding and confidence necessary to submit successful tenders.

  • Aim of the Programme
    This training workshop explores the ways that a business can increase its chances of success and highlights the important elements that must be considered throughout the tendering process.

  • Content

    • Understanding the tendering process - How it works? Why is it used? Who is it for?

    • The purchasing organisation - What are they looking for? How do they operate?

    • The selection/ short listing process - What is/ is not allowed in the short listing/ selection process? Common selection criteria

    • Potential issues/ difficulties in submitting tenders

    • Increasing your changes of selection/ short listing

    • Short listing interviews/ presentations

    • The look and feel of your tenders and proposals

    • Adopting a systematic approach to tendering in your business


  • Outcomes/ Objectives
    At the end of the programme, participants will: -

    • Have a full understanding of the tendering process

    • Know how they can utilise the tender process to develop their clients case and increase revenue

    • Have an increased understanding of the motivations, requirement and methodologies of the tendering company

    • Know how to increase their chances of being short listed and what to do at a short listing interview/ presentation

    • Be aware of the potential issues and pitfalls in submitting tenders, as well as how to avoid/ overcome them

    • Examine the ways they can adopt a systematic approach to considering and responding to tender requests
